Both styles are tiresome, and Imagine Dragons gives us the worst of both worlds. People claim this band is original, but how original is really taking Mumford & Sons lyrics/emotional wringing, Florence & the Machine's rhythm, and hip hop beats and seeing if it works as a whole? Everything in modern day radio is either a hollow gesture of personal introspection or something danceable.

Night Visions quickly becomes tiresome to listen to, and was a chore to finish. There's dubstep, arena rock, emotional lyrics, chorus chants. an example of band that tries to take every single trend in music, throw it together on a canvas, and see what happens. an example of band that tries to take every takes alt-rock drama and boy-band syrup and bolts on some fun.-size arena-singalong choruses. "Radioactive" is a groundbreaking, earth-shaking song that you need to listen to at max volume to fully enjoy. "Underdog" sounds like it could be a Passion Pit song, and that's not a bad thing. The lyrics on this album are not normally great, but they are never really bad either. "Demons" is great lyrically and musically. The final song on this album is really impressive musically. "Bleeding Out" starts off slow and dull, but quickly becomes something fantastic with it's dark lyrics and music. Besides these two tracks, every song this album is enjoyable, interesting, and highly-likeable. "Every Night" is painfully repetitive and "On Top of the World" has cheerful music and lyrics that get old really fast.
